A menu bar app for your calls
Stop reading your meetings. Look at them.
Drawl listens to your call and draws it while you talk. What got decided, who owes what, the numbers that mattered and the question nobody answered, laid out on a canvas you can read at a glance.

Three minutes of talk. Seven things worth keeping.
A number, an answer, a decision, a task with an owner and a date, a risk, and an idea still taking shape. In the transcript they sit between “Yeah” and “you cut out for a second”. On the canvas they are the first thing you see, while the call is still going.
One call, start to finish

10:00The call starts
Your call starts. Drawl asks first.
Drawl waits in the menu bar. When a call app opens your microphone, a small pill drops in at the top right of your screen: Call detected, the app it heard, and one button, Draw notes. Press it and Drawl comes to the front and starts drawing. It listens only during a call you choose to canvas.
Leave it and after 30 seconds it shrinks to a chip, still on top. Return draws, Esc dismisses. The very first time, the speech model may need to download, and the pill says how close it is to ready.

- Watching for calls
- Call detected in Zoom — Start canvas
- Live: Zoom call · 0:12
Watches for calls in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, FaceTime, Webex and Discord, and in Google Chrome, Safari, Arc, Microsoft Edge and Brave, where the pill reads “Browser call · Chrome”.
In the corner, as the call starts
Top right of the screen your pointer is on, above full-screen apps and other apps' prompts. The bar counts down 30 seconds; hovering holds it. In dark mode the pill turns near-black.
After 30 seconds
It shrinks to a chip and stays on top. Click it, or press Return, and the pill comes back; Esc dismisses either.
Or from the menu bar
10:02Listening
It hears both sides. The audio stays on your Mac.
Your microphone and the call app's audio are turned into text on the Mac, with Apple's speech APIs. The audio is never saved.
The transcript text does leave the Mac: hosted AI models read it to decide what each line is and to write the cards. That's the trade. Here is the whole route.
The transcript panel, two minutes in. You in teal, everyone else in coral. The orb sits on the line being transcribed right now.
“Drawl listens to your microphone only during a call you choose to canvas. Audio never leaves this Mac and is never saved.”
“Drawl hears the call app's audio to transcribe the other side on this Mac. Audio is never saved.”
10:24LiveThe canvas takes shape
While you talk, it draws.
Not a summary an hour later. Each topic becomes a station on a line, and the moments that matter hang off it as cards, in the order they were said. Twenty-four minutes in, this is what's on screen.
- 01
Shapes first, words next. A card appears the moment a line is worth drawing. Its words fill in as the writing catches up.
- 02
Then it rereads. It goes back over whole stretches of the call, fills cards in and links them: this supports that, this answers that.
- 03
It follows the newest card. The canvas stays at the bottom while you talk. Scroll up and it holds where you left it.
- 04
Saved as it goes. The call is written to your Mac while it runs, so even a forced quit leaves it in Past calls.
Each topic is a station on the line. Click a finished one's title and it folds like an accordion, down to one line and its wrap-up.
Your agenda and Ask next on top, then three trays that fill as you talk: Decided, To do and Open questions.
Live, the time and the orb, which pauses the call. Stop ends it, and Send… appears once it has.
Every line as it's heard can sit between the canvas and the rail. The header's transcript button shows or hides it.
It remembers the last meeting, and what you meant to ask.
On the canvas
What ends up on the canvas
Not a summary. Typed cards, each built for one kind of moment, hung on a spine of topics in the order they came up. If nobody said a date, the card doesn't get one.
Why · Nobody finished it in testing
Plus none, for small talk, logistics and filler: no card at all, on purpose.
10:31The call ends
Hang up. It's already saved.
Press Stop, or just leave the call: Drawl stops on its own shortly after the call app lets go of your microphone. The canvas and its transcript stay on your Mac.
Open it again from Past calls, in the menu bar or the app, with every station, wrap-up and tray where you left them, ready to send.

10:33Send
Send the picture, not the transcript.
Press Send… in the dock, or open the call from Past calls. One panel makes a read-only link to the canvas and, for the rows you switch on, posts a digest to Slack and creates a Notion page. Each row says what happened, right under it.
- LINK
- Anyone with it opens the canvas in a browser, and Open in Drawl opens it in the app. The transcript is never uploaded.
- STOP
- Stop sharing deletes the shared canvas at once. The link stops working for everyone.
- SLACK
- Posts the link with what was decided and what's to do, to the channel you pick.
- NOTION
- Creates a page with the decisions, action items and open questions, under the page you pick.
Nothing is sent until you press Send.
Connect Slack and Notion once, in Settings › Connections. You pick the channel and page when you send; Drawl remembers your last choice.

Questions
Fair questions.
Does a bot join my call?
No. Drawl listens on your Mac, through your microphone and the call app's audio.
Does my audio leave the Mac?
No. It's transcribed on the Mac with Apple's speech APIs and never saved. The transcript text does go to hosted AI models, through Drawl's server, because that's what writes the cards.
Which calls does it notice?
Calls in Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack, FaceTime, Webex and Discord, and calls in Google Chrome, Safari, Arc, Microsoft Edge or Brave. Drawl notices the app opening your microphone and asks before it starts drawing.
What do people see when I share?
A read-only canvas in their browser, on share.drawl.fyi. Never the transcript. If they have Drawl, Open in Drawl opens it there. Stop sharing deletes it at once.
What do I need to run it?
A Mac with Apple Silicon on macOS 26 or later, and a Google account to sign in. On an older macOS the app opens, but live calls are off.
How much is it?
$15 a month, as a paid subscription. You sign in with Google.
Your next call
Draw your next call.
Drawl waits in your menu bar and asks when a call starts. You stay in the conversation; it keeps the picture.
